Your Best Friend (abbreviated YBF) is a major mechanic in the Post-Mortem minigame in Oblitus Casa.
Appearance[]
Your Best Friend is a voodoo doll of Mickey Mouse. It has a sewn-on mouth, buttons for eyes and a sewing needle for a tail.
Gameplay[]
In Post-Mortem, you can bring up Your Best Friend by flicking over its name, and stab it with another sewing needle by clicking on it. Doing so when Shade Photo-Negative Mickey or Shade Oswald are in the Office will lure them away. Otherwise, it'll bring Shade Sadie closer to killing you.
Shade Goofy will steal YBF for the rest of the minigame if he gets into the Office. Shade Donald will also temporarily disable YBF while he's screaming at the player.
Exclusive to the Post-Mortem Custom Night, the player can toggle the "YBF Hide" setting. This setting makes YBF leave your hand every so often and hide in one of several spots in the Office. The player must find and click on it before it leaves for good. If the "Flawless" setting is enabled, stabbing YBF when neither Shade Photo-Negative Mickey or Shade Oswald are present, having Shade Goofy steal YBF, or having it run away from you will result in Shade Sadie instantly killing the player.

Trivia[]
- Your Best Friend was based on both the Voodoo mechanics that was supposed to appear in Nightmare Before Disney 2015 as well as its original appearance in a fangame called Five Nights at Treasure Island: The Revenge.
- Your Best Friend was originally supposed to have a squeaky little voice that would talk to the player and explained the Post-Mortem mechanics. This didn't make it in because Nocturnum forgot to add it.
