Shades are a hivemind of antagonists in the Post-Mortem sections of Oblitus Casa.
Extras Bio
"Ghosts of the past, the Shades are ghastly and nightmarish creatures representing the FNaTI cast. Memories of a period Jake would rather forget, the player must fend them off in Post Mortem. The Shades were originally planned for version 2.0 of FNaTI, where they would appear after the player turns the power off. Their models were planned to resemble classic creepypasta characters, however, only 2 of them were ever modeled, those being Shade PNM, based on himself, and Shade Minnie, based on Jeff The Killer. They have all been given drastic and more original redesigns and updated lore for Oblitus Casa."
Appearance
Shade Photo-Negative Mickey
Shade Photo-Negative Mickey bears some similarities in appearance to Photo-Negative Mickey's Gen 1 model, but with less melting. His left ear is intact as his right ear is smaller and more melted, his colors are fading, he has a big hole on the right side of his chest, his legs are missing, and the fingers on both of his hands are longer and pointier.
Shade Oswald
Shade Oswald is designed to more resemble his classic 1.0 design, as his colors are generally darker and slightly messed up in some areas. His lower half is gone, he has spikes for arms, and he has a wide grin.
Shade Minnie
Shade Minnie bears some similarities in appearance to Impurity's Gen 1 model, but her legs are missing, her dress is torn, her fingers are longer, her jaw has a wide open empty smile with no teeth, she has ink dripping down from her right eye, and she has a hook lodged into her back.
Shade Goofy
Shade Goofy is designed to more resemble his 4.0 counterpart, as his vest is now yellow. His head is back as well, floating above the collar of his shirt without a neck connecting it. His shins are missing, his fingers are longer, and he has a large hole on his chest.
Shade Sadie
Shade Sadie is designed to more resemble her appearance in 4.0, but she has arms and her hat and dress is green instead of pink. Her legs are missing, her fingers are long and thin, her dress is ripped with a pink pair of shorts underneath, and she has many holes on her head.
Shade Donald
Shade Donald more resembles the original Disney version more than Disembodied, as he has a body. His legs are missing, his neck is gone, leaving his head to be floating, his left arm is missing, his head has many holes, as you can see through it, and his sailor hat is missing.
Behavior
Shade Photo-Negative Mickey
Shade Photo-Negative Mickey will start in cameras 1, 5, 6 or 10 randomly upon entering Post-Mortem, and will make his way towards either the left or right entrances of the Office. When he's at either door, the player cannot see him unless they turn on the lantern light. Stab YBF to send him away.
Shade Oswald
Shade Oswald acts similarly to Shade Photo-Negative Mickey, in that he starts in cameras 1, 5, 6 or 10 and will progress towards the Office. He will enter from the left and right entrances, and he is hard to spot once he's inside. Stab YBF to send him away.
Shade Minnie
Shade Minnie doesn't have a set path, and will instead appear in any camera without ever trying to reach the Office. If the player looks at her on the cameras without quickly switching away, she will pull the cameras down and immediately appear right in front of them behind the desk. Pull the cameras back up quickly to get rid of her.
Shade Goofy
Shade Goofy starts in cameras 1, 5, 6 or 10, and will make his way towards the player through either entrance. YBF doesn't work on him, and instead they must shine the lantern light at whichever door he's in to scare him away. Failure to do so will result in YBF being stolen, leaving the player defenseless against the threats that require it. after that, Shade Goofy wont spawn in any cameras.
Shade Sadie
Shade Sadie resides in the carousel in CAM 9, and will progressively leave it over time. There is no way to make her slow down or back off, so she simply acts as a timer for how long the player has in Post Mortem before they lose. If the player doesn't make it out in time, Shade Sadie will kill them the moment she leaves CAM 9. Additionally, stabbing YBF when nobody is around will bring her closer incrementally. but in 2.0, She can be backed off a phase if collecting the mickey heads, additionally if you turn on Flawless mode, any mistake you do (Stabbing YBF when Shade Photo-Negative Mickey or Oswald are not in the Office; Shade goofy taking YBF; Collecting a Shade Donald head; Losing YBF when he hides (If you turn on YBF hide he will hide in 4 spots, if you don't collect him, he escapes forever)) Shade Sadie will Instakill you.
Shade Donald
Shade Donald will appear in various cameras, sometimes multiple at once, and disguise himself as the Mickey heads the player needs to find. Fake heads are indicated by a subtle flickering Donald head overlaying it, alongside a static noise. Clicking a fake head will cause Shade Donald to appear inside the office and temporarily disable the cameras as well as YBF, paralyzing the player for several seconds as he screams in their face, whilst the screen is heavily saturated. but in 2.0 Shade Donald wont spawn fake heads and instead disguises himself as a real Mickey head, you can deal with him by Switching cameras back and forth to make him go away.

Trivia
- The Shades voice lines are actually their edited voices from older versions of Five Nights at Treasure Island, however they weren't meant to be used for Oblitus Casa, being originally scrapped. This can be most clearly heard with Shade Goofy's voice lines, clearly resembling Classic Acephalous' voice lines.
- The hook lodged into Shade Minnie's back is based off of a scrapped design concept for Impurity in FNaTI 2020. She was originally meant to have a hook on her back in her regular form. After this was scrapped, the idea was repurposed for Shade Minnie in Oblitus Casa.
- The characters lacking their lower legs is most likely a reference to the Nightmare Before Disney games where most of the characters lacked their legs.
- Shade Goofy's chest hole references Classic Acephalous' line "Have a heart, please".
- Shade Donald's head being hollow references the skull from the Abandoned by Disney creepypasta.
- Before any story changes were made, the shades were originally going to be more "Nightmarish" versions of the Shadow creatures featured in Five Nights at Treasure Island 6.0.
- It's possible to honk Shade Minnie's nose while she's inside the office, triggering a high-pitched echoing laugh sound.
- Back when Treasure Island 2 was supposed to be only Post-Mortem, Shade Oswald was going to be called "Pawn".
- This name was later reused for another character.
- Early on, The Shades were planned to work much differently.
- Your Best Friend was supposed to work against every Shade, except for Shade Donald who would've prevented you from using it and to get rid of him you needed to look at the camera.
- Additionally, there used to be a radio in the office which would've played distorted frequencies when a Shade was near.
The Shades are antagonists from the second version of Five Nights at Treasure Island, also known as Remastered 2.0, created by AnArt1996, taking the forms of Photo-Negative Mickey, Photo-Negative Minnie and Oswald.
Appearance
Shade Photo-Negative Mickey
Shade Photo-Negative Mickey bears the traditional appearance of Photo-Negative Mickey from FNaTI 1.0. However, his eyes are depicted large, hollow-black, and his mouth is wide open with a wider smile.
Shade Photo-Negative Minnie
Shade Photo-Negative Minnie bears the traditional appearance of Photo-Negative Minnie from FNaTI 1.0. However, Photo-Negative Minnie possesses phantom-glowing white eyes in the form of rings (similarly to MOTHER) and a mouth melded together, as well as for a melted-like type of face.
Shade Oswald
Shade Oswald bears the traditional appearance of Oswald from FNaTI 1.0. However, he possesses sharp teeth, lacks his nose, and gains bulging human-like eyes.
Behavior
It is unknown how the Shades would act in 2.0.

Trivia
- Shade Oswald's face that appears in one of the transmission video is actually a crude photo edit done by PuritySin. Shade Oswald was never fully modelled.
- Shade Photo-Negative Mickey's model was not saved after the trailer for Remastered 2.0 was finished, making the model lost.
- The shades would have been based on creepypasta characters, Photo-Negative Mickey's would be based on himself, Photo-Negative Minnie's shade would be based on Jeff The Killer, Oswald's would be based on SCP-173 (Later changed to BOB), and Goofy's on The Rake.
- The Shade enemies would have heavily relied on sound cues according to AnArt1996.
- The way the shades designs were made is that AnArt1996 rendered the original models in dark lighting, and then remodeling their new looks from what AnArt saw in the darkness.
- This could only apply to Shade Photo-Negative Mickey.
Shades are a hivemind of "secret" characters in Treasure Island.
Appearance
The Shades drastically resemble MOTHER; black all around with glowing-white eyes in the form of rings. Because they only ever make their appearances in the darkness, it is entirely impossible to ascertain what they truly look like.
The Shade(s) that make their appearances in the Office retain the appearance of the other characters (ex. Impurity or Disembodied), both of them being from older versions of Treasure Island. Additionally, the shades would take the appearance of the toons if they entered the office, with the exception of being completely black with glowing-white eyes in the form of rings.
Behavior
The Shades will make their appearance in the Office once the player shuts off the light. They possess a small chance of appearing either individually or in a group. The Shades are entirely harmless and will go away as soon as the player turns their lights back on (with the potential exception of if they appear in the office once a toon enters). Despite being portrayed to be completely harmless, their only purpose is to scare and distract the player. Additionally, the shades will make a certain appearance if one of the toons enter the Office while the lights are out.

Trivia
- The Shades are one of the three characters who cannot kill the player in-game; yet still grant them disadvantages, the others being Disembodied and MOTHER.
- In an early version of Five Nights at Treasure Island, The Shades used to randomly emerge and fade in; rather than making an immediate appearance.
- Additionally, The Shades also had their full bodies (resembling the characters from the original versions of the game) and identities visible, since the Office was never pitch-black when the lights were turned off; only making an appearance under a dark-blue hue/tint instead.
- If the lights were switched off while Acephalous was in the Office, the shade resembling Acephalous noticeably has his head attached onto his body. Additionally, the shade that appears in front of the Treasure Island sign noticeably resembled Ortensia, and the shade that appears in front of the Oswald-sign noticeably resembles Oswald, which is accomplished by this particular brightened image.
- While their teaser from the game's beta is dubbed "You're safe in the dark," if the image is brightened, more phrases will become visible: being "We missed you," "Don't forget us," "We're still here," "Did you think we were gone?" and "Remember the memories." Additionally, a phrase appears next to the phrase "You're safe in the dark," being "RIGHT?"
- The Shades were a group of antagonists meant to appear in Remastered 2.0. They were scrapped in version 3.0 but were picked up by fans in fan-games, and eventually brought back for the final version of Five Nights at Treasure Island.
- The Shades in 6.0 are inspired by the short horror film "Lights Out."
- According to the developers, these characters have slight lore-relevance.
- Contrary to what some may believe, MOTHER is not a Shade; and is in fact her own being. Likewise, The Shades are a separate type of entity themselves as well.
- Occasionally, when a shade appears directly at the middle of the Office after turning the lights off, a droning noise can be heard, which is the same one MOTHER emits.
- Rarely a shade of Oswald named Pawn can appear on the Storage Area camera.
