The Pirate Caverns area is a pirate-themed exhibit and attraction located within the abandoned Discovery Island resort. The exhibit features three total floors, the first two featuring two enemies with the same colour palette as the original Mickey Mouse in mascot form and in distorted form as they plan to murder the next person who enters either of the floors they reside on, and the last floor featuring an area where only authorized personnel is allowed to enter. The characters within the main game whom commonly reside in this area are The Face on Floor 1, and Undying on Floor 2.
Pirate Caverns is connected directly to Treasure Island via the Locker Room, which is Undying's starting point on Night 5 and Mascot Photo-Negative Mickey's starting point whenever active on Custom Night.
Description
Floor 1
Floor 1 is a floor in the Pirate Caverns exhibit in Treasure Island. In the game, this is where The Face resides as he crawls around on the floor searching for Jake Smith and, according to Lisa's call the night prior, anyone else in the Supernatural Studies Association. To repel him, Jake can use a flash installed with his equipment.
It is first seen in Pirate Caverns 1 post-Night 3, and is the location of the key required to open the door on Floor 2 to complete the level.
Floor 2
Floor 2 is a floor in the Pirate Caverns exhibit in Treasure Island. In the game, this is where Undying resides as he teleports around on the floor searching for Jake Smith and, according to Lisa's call the night prior, anyone else in the Supernatural Studies Association. To repel him, Jake can stand still so he can't be detected of his movement.
It is first seen in Pirate Caverns 1 post-Night 3, and is the location of the door for the key obtained on Floor 1 to open the door and complete the level.
The player will sometimes encounter Pluto in the third phase section of Floor 2 as a non-hostile Easter Egg.
Floor 3 & Endgame
Floor 3 is a floor in the Pirate Caverns exhibit in Treasure Island. In the game, this is where the vault that completes the game can be opened, featuring the quoted "dumb legend" that the public deemed it to be. Said "dumb legend" being the 2D animation studio for Walt Disney's old animations. At the start of Night 6, Henry informs Jake of the code to this vault, claiming it to be "3497" and giving Jake the knowledge to access it for himself.
It can be first seen in Pirate Caverns 1 post-Night 3 or Pirate Caverns 2 depending on whether the player decides to visit it, and is the location of the vault required to complete the game, using the code "3497" on the keypad seen by the door with the "Authorized Personnel Only" plaque when entering the floor. This can only be activated as intended after Night 6 is completed. Once Jake enters the vault, it automatically closes behind him, likely along with the "Authorized Personnel Only" door that blocks off the vault further, locking him inside forever. MOTHER then fades into existence and jumps onto Jake, causing him to lose consciousness. After MOTHER disposes of Jake, she then claims "It's here, my children," and the main game ends.
If the player inputs "6666" as the code at any given night, a still image of Photo-Negative Mickey (or Error Mickey) with human teeth and eyes will be displayed.

Trivia
- If the player revisits Floor 2 in Pirate Caverns 2 and faces the wall next to the broken window, two pieces of paper can be found pinned in it, the first reading "FREE AT LAST" and the second reading "I AM GONE", which weren't present in Pirate Caverns 1. It is possible that Undying wrote these since, unlike The Face, he is nowhere to be found in Pirate Caverns 2.
- Before 1.1.5, you had to input "3497" in Pirate Caverns 1 to trigger the Photo-Negative Mickey Easter Egg in Floor 3.
- In Pirate Caverns 2, MOTHER can rarely appear in either the left or right hallway in the entrance to the vault in Floor 3. She will disappear when the player uses the flashlight in her presence.
- In Remastered 3.0, it was planned that a boss battle involving The Face would have taken place inside Pirate Caverns.
- In Remastered 4.0, the Custom Night would have taken place on Floor 3.
- Blackout1912 considered doing Pirate Caverns in the Clickteam Firefly engine for 4.0.
- Hiding in the Pirate Caverns elevator was considered a mechanic in 4.0.
