Eyeless Jack is a Challenge Night antagonist in Oblitus Casa.
Extras Bio[]
"Dubbed 'Eyeless Jack' by those who have seen him, this entity is reported to appear during episodes of sleep paralysis. Victims will often open their eyes to a dark figure leering at them through a mask with empty, black eyes leaking a black, oily fluid. Following posts about the creature appearing online, many took the stories of those who sighted it during bouts of sleep paralysis and ran with them, claiming that it was a cannibal who feasted on its victim's kidneys or a victim of a cult ritual. Regardless, the true nature and identity of the creature, or whether or not it's even real, to begin with, is unknown."
Appearance[]
Eyeless Jack is very different from its original source. He is a tall humanoid with long legs without clothes, which is why his ribs are visible on his torso. He is wearing a gray, dirty mask, with two black empty holes in place of eyes.
Behavior[]
1.0[]
In his challenge, the player starts in the Tunnels, equipped with a flashing camera rather than a lighter or flashlight. The player must chase him using his footsteps as a guide, and take five pictures of him before time runs out. Jack will make distinct footsteps running around the tunnels, their clarity and volume depending on how close he is. If his footsteps are audible from behind, or if he suddenly stops making footsteps after chasing him, he's in the same room as the player and he must be photographed immediately. He is mostly passive, trying to avoid the player, but he is still lethal if he's in the same room with them for too long, or if the player idles for too long and falls asleep.
2.0[]
Jack’s challenge still requires the player to take five (ten in hard mode) pictures, however it plays differently due to the revamped tunnels. He wanders around and the player must follow and find him using the compass on the top right to navigate the darkness and his audible footsteps, which sound different from 1.0. When his footsteps are at its loudest volume, he is in close proximity to the player and must be taken a picture of immediately before either the player or Jack run into each other. The pictures will only count if Jack is close to the player otherwise, if done from a farther distance, will cause Jack to chase the player down. He can be outran and will eventually lose interest. Jack will also still kill the player if the latter falls asleep.
